The winner of the first annual Shoot It Independent Production Fund is Shenara L. Owens! Her winning script "Days Of Many" will receive a 5,000 dollar production award!

Shenara L. Owens, a 27 year old screenwriter from Atlanta Georgia, who is fairly new to contest submissions, submitted her short screenplay to our contest. The Shoot It staff informed Shenara of her win on December 20, 2006.

Story Synopsis: Jayla Jennings is 22 years old, intelligent, and living a harsh life in the streets. She wants out but finds it hard with no family and a thief for a roommate. Jayla uses the only smarts she has to cleverly craft her escape from the bitter streets.

"This was just an awsome script. Well crafted, smart, and entertaining! If Days Of Many is a snapshot of what we can expect from future scripts in this contest, hollywood is about to evolve!" Kesha Bell, Event Director for The Shoot It Independent Production Fund.

The first annual Shoot It Independent Production Fund screenwriting competition was a huge success! 874 scripts were recieved and read. Thank you to all the screenwriters who submitted, judges on the panel, administrative staff, and to our sponsors! We look forward to the next competition and all the success it brings! Congratulations once again to Shenara L. Ownes, Tomas Clark, and writing team George McDaniels and Arnold Smith!
